OCNA IS WORKING FOR YOU!

The Board is meeting regularly with city officials to keep our Seaside neighborhood safe and clean!
- The city is working to identify and paint red curbs on critical intersections to improve visibility for drivers and neighbors.
- We are currently working on a pre-Coast Hwy Redevelopment plan for traffic calming and cut through traffic Tremont, Ditmar, and Freeman streets.
- We successfully worked with the city to stop the unpermitted harboring of homeless reducing negative impacts and crimes.
- We continue to work with staff on pressing the NCTD project for more transparency and mitigate negative bus circulation impacts.

 New Transit Development Neighborhood Concerns
OCNA Board has been working to make sure the Oceanside Transit Center (OTC) Redevelopment efforts are held to the highest development standards as one of our largest developments.
Of particular concern to the OCNA Board is moving the bus bays to the south lot, and creating an exit for southbound bus routes on Missouri Ave with inbound bus routes on Michigan Ave. Both routs are impacted by the Coast Hwy road diet.
OCNA concerns are for the safety and walkability of our neighbors and visitors, removing the limited street parking for our businesses and visitors, additional congested traffic, and pollution. For Info,

Look for OCNA101

Oceanside Coastal Neighborhood Association (OCNA) is made up of people just like you. We’re your neighbors down the street and around the corner who are getting involved in our community and strengthening ties to one another. By sharing information and working together, we can all make a great neighborhood even better.

Our mission is to ensure a vital, sustainable neighborhood that protects the quality of life for all citizens in the Oceanside coastal area.

DID YOU KNOW . . .

Did you know, there are no local or foreign markets for mixed plastics that we recycle!
Originally, Western countries carefully sorted their plastics and paper by using separate bins and collections. China, desperate for raw materials, began taking all the recycling the world could send it.
In 2018 China declared a stop to this polluting practice refusing to take material with >.5% contamination.
Moral of this story: Use as little plastic and buy things in glass or metal when possible!
Refill all kinds of products at Oceanside’s Sonora Refillery on 1012 Coast Hwy!

Parking Permits in Seaside!

Only 79 signatures needed of 191 to petition the City for parking permits to help ease parking for neighbors!

Permit area is Freeman to Nevada
Seagaze to Missouri streets, and would be $15  a year per car and provide 20 free guest passes per year (5 consecutive day).
If you live on one of these streets above and  would like to sign the petition, or would like to help collect signatures in this area, please contact Michelle Barnum at  michelle.barnum1@gmail.com.
